My yoga journey began after the birth of my second daughter. At first, I didn’t take it very seriously — I simply used yoga to help ease my back pain. But everything changed after I had two surgeries on my feet. That’s when I decided to fully commit. I completed my teacher training online, and I was hooked.
Starting from almost zero, I devoted myself to studying for three hours a day. I began planning yoga lessons for my class at the school where I worked and eventually created an entire course for the preschool. Along the way, I discovered pranayama, Ayurveda, ancient scriptures, and yoga philosophy. I introduced these practices not only to my daughters but also to the children at school.
After completing my 200-hour teacher training, I took a summer break and then dove into reading. One book that changed everything was Breath by James Nestor — I was instantly captivated. I took part in a Wim Hof workshop and continued to study, devouring book after book.
I realized that my growing knowledge and practice could help so many people. I wanted to focus more on breathwork but knew I had to commit to something I could practice at home.
During this time, my eldest daughter was undergoing tests for a stutter — something she’d been struggling with for a while. My yoga studies helped me see her situation in a new light. I started to understand the connection between her nervous system and her breathing patterns — things that specialists, and even I, had missed before.
That’s when I saw an Instagram ad for the Buteyko Method with Patrick McKeown in London. I booked the course immediately, read all the books, and worked intensely, completing 120 hours online after the event. I also began my 300-hour teacher training to deepen my knowledge.
My daughter Stella became my first case study. Since then, many people have reached out to follow her progress. Yoga found me, and together we discovered a link between her anxiety, speech difficulties, and breath. It was meant to be.
I have now left my preschool teaching job to offer yoga and breathwork workshops for preschool and primary school children across Brescia — sharing the gift that transformed my family with the wider community.
